TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Supreme Court is warning residents about a widespread international email and phone scam.
The scams are falsely claiming that the intended victims have court cases or other legal issues pending in Florida, and insist the victim must pay money or hand over private information.
The Supreme Court says if you get a notice of this kind, do *NOT* respond until further investigation. Do not open any links in the emails, which may contain computer viruses or other means to steal your personal information.
If you think you're a victim, you can send an email to supremecourt@flcourts.org
