Tallahassee, Fla (WTXL) -A bill has been passed by the Senate today that would make it illegal for insurance companies to deny policies to gun owners or charge higher rates based solely on gun ownership.
Some insurance companies say that there is greater risk of claims from gun owners. Bill supporters want to make it illegal for these insurance companies to discriminate a citizen for excercising their constitutional right to own firearms.
The bill passed the Florida Senate with a 36-3 vote.
