TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - A new retail hub is getting ready for its first opening.
A Starbucks is expected to be the first store to open in the Magnolia Grove development on the corner of Magnolia Drive and Park Avenue.
The 9.27-acre development's groundbreaking was in September 2014, according to Brianna Barnebee, account manager of RB Oppenheim Associates.
Other businesses set to open throughout the fall are Which-Wich, Blaze Pizza, Oishii Sushi, Mattress One, Stanton Optical and the 4-story hotel, Hilton Home 2 Suites. A Smashburger is expected to open within the next month.
Barnebee says the hotel, which contains 132 rooms, will likely be the last business to open.
The development's retailers will serve the 35,824 residents and 53,590 employees in the area, according to Barnebee.
The center is also 2.5 miles away from FSU and FAMU and 1.5 miles from the Capitol says Barnebee. The Governor's Square Mall is only a half mile away providing additional retail options.
Based in Ponte Vedra Beach, The Ferber Company is the developer of the project.
