TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The area around Bannerman Road has seen significant development in recent years. The latest addition officially opens Monday across the street from Bannerman Crossings.

First Florida Credit Union is opening its sixth branch in Tallahassee and 14th statewide.

It's located on Beech Ridge Court just off Thomasville and Bannerman Roads.

Regional Branch Director, Ruthellen Caldwell, says the credit union is "ecstatic" to be part of the Bannerman Crossings community and to serve customers closer to home.

"The community here is growing by leaps and bounds, and we can't wait to be neighbors with everybody that's out here. We've had a very warm welcome. Glad to be here," said Caldwell. "We have a member base just in the 32312 zip code area of over 1,800 members at First Florida currently, so we want to be able to be out here and serve our current members as well as new businesses, new potential personal members."

The credit union will throw a community block party on July 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as a way to thank nearby businesses and customers for their support.
