(WTXL) - Winter storm warnings have been issued for multiple parts of the Big Bend and South Georgia area.
The following counties are under winter storm warning from 1 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Wednesday:
- Leon County
- Madison County
- Taylor County
- Lafayette County
- Jefferson County
- Suwannee County (Until 5 p.m. Wednesday)
- Hamilton County (Until 5 p.m. Wednesday)
- Lowndes County
- Cook County
- Berrien County
- Brooks County
- Lanier County
- Tift County
- Colquitt County
- Thomas County
- Echols County (Until 5 p.m. Wednesday)
- Clinch County (Until 5 p.m. Wednesday)
You can expect mixed precipitation (sleet) and difficult travel conditions during your Wednesday morning commute. WTXL's First Alert meteorologists say to expect total snow accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch.
A winter storm warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice are expected. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5-1-1.
