SUWANNEE COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - Suwannee County firefighters said that they were called out to a farm after a delivery accident resulted in a dangerous chemical reaction.
Suwannee Fire Rescue said that at 8 a.m. on Thursday, they were called to an chemical incident on 81st Road. They said the caller told them that the accident caused sulfuric acid to be mixed with fertilizer on the farm.
Crews said that when they arrived, they found a white cloud of smoke coming from a building on the property.
Firefighters said that they evacuated everyone from the area. After, they used air packs to look around the area.
They said they were able to clear the area within a few hours with the help of the Gainesville Fire Rescue. They said that no one was injured.
