JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Officials say two Jacksonville firefighters were hospitalized following a suspicious fire at a vacant home.
The Florida Times-Union (http://goo.gl/YtoZk8 ) reports that flames were coming from the second floor when firefighters responded to the home Monday morning. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department spokesman Tom Francis says the blaze expanded as crews searched the home for possible victims, though none were found.
Two firefighters were taken to a nearby hospital. Paramedics determined their injuries weren't from smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire wasn't immediately known, but Francis says the fire is considered suspicious because the house had been boarded up.
