TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Several firefighters were honored Friday for their service to Tallahassee residents.
Officials with the Tallahassee Fire Department recognized recent retirees in a ceremony at the Ghazvini Center for healthcare education awards.
The Lifesaving Award was given to Zach Bennett, Caleb Waff, Carleigh Corbin, and Hannah Dempsey for rescuing someone from burning vehicle.
"Feels good. It's been a long time coming, definitely put a lot of work in; non-stop work meetings, speaking with the chief," said Johnathan Jeudy, who's new to TFD. "If it wasn't for the support of my family, friends, and backing to really get to the point where I am now... Its really a dream come true."
Those who were recently promoted were also honored on Friday.
