VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - Valdosta firefighters estimated that an early morning fire on Thursday cost one business around $400,000.
The Valdosta Fire Department said that within 5 minutes of the initial call, they responded to a fire at 3272 North Valdosta Road.
When they arrived, firefighters said the found a business building on fire with flames and smoke coming out of the western side of the building. They said they called a second alarm for additional units.
Firefighters said they made a "quick aggressive attack" to put out the flames while other crews searched the building for anyone inside.
Once the fire was put out, VFD said that crews looked through the building to find and extinguish any other hidden fires. They also said that none of the 27 firefighters who helped put out the fire were injured.
Valdosta firefighters estimated that the total damages to be $400,000. They said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
