TALLAHASSEE, FLA. (WTXL) - A toddler is dead, following an accidental shooting. Tallahassee Police say Raymond Gaines Junior died early this morning. There are still many details we don't know at this point, but police have released that a three year old died in Tallahassee this morning from what authorities are calling an accidental shooting.
The Chief of Operations at Talon Gun Range says while incidents like these might never be completely preventable, there are ways to reduce the likelihood of an accident.
J.D. Johnson says firearm accidents often occur because of a lack of education. He says one of the most important gun safety tips is knowing how to store your gun, especially when children are present in the home. Johnson says if you plan on owning a gun, you should seek out the proper training and understand the capabilities of the firearm. He also stresses to treat every gun as if it's loaded.
