TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It was all about honoring those who serve during a special event at the Florida Capitol on Tuesday night.
Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis announced the recipients of the 2018 fire service awards.
The awards honor the state's top firefighter, fire investigator, fire chief and many others who answer the call, helping in emergencies day in and day out.
On Wednesday the award recipients will join Patronis at the site of the Fallen Firefighter Memorial for the "Ringing of the Bell," a ceremony remembering and honoring their fallen colleagues.
