SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)--A fire in Suwannee County leads to the discovery of a marijuana grow operation.
Richard Ryan Root is now out of jail on $80,000 bond. Deputies say an outbuilding he owned caught fire.
When the state fire marshal arrived to investigate on Friday, deputies say Root wanted them to leave.
They returned with a search warrant and found grow lights and marijuana roots that Root had tried to hide.
He is charged with possession of a marijuana grow house, cultivation of marijuana, and tampering with evidence.
