WAKULLA CO., Fla. -- A car was totaled Monday morning after hitting a tree, but the driver is expected to survive, according to Wakulla County Fire and EMS Chief Mike Morgan.
The single-car crash happened on Old Bethel Road, just south of the Bloxham Cut Off, in Wakulla County.
Despite the damage shown in the attached slideshow, Chief Morgan says the driver's injuries don't appear to be life-threatening. He was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital by Wakulla County EMS.
The driver told police that after the vehicle stopped, he unbuckled his seatbelt stepped onto the street from his vehicle (the door had been ripped off the car). He was reportedly walking around when officials arrived.
