Fire causes $15,000 in damages to Tallahassee home

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A fire that started on the stove caused $15,000 in damages to a Tallahassee home. 

On Tuesday at about 4:03 p.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department was called to a house fire in the 2200 block of Amelia Circle. 

TFD said firefighters arrived on scene in five minutes to find smoke coming from the home. Crews then made their way inside the home and extinguished the fire while searching the home. TFD stated no one was home at the time of the fire.   

According to TFD, the fire appears to have started on the stove and spread into the attic causing approximately $15,000 in damages. 

There were no reported injuries.   

TFD was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County EMS.
