TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Final arguments set to begin in the murder trial of Starquineshia Palmer.
The 23-year-old is accused of fatally stabbing her girlfriend, rising Florida A & M University basketball star Shannon Washington. It happened in September 2011. Palmer's attorneys are claiming she stabbed Washington in self-defense.
At the end of the day, a jury of six will determine whether Palmer should be convicted of first degree murder. The defense says she "reacted" after she said Washington repeatedly choked her. However, recently psychiatrist Dr. Greg Prichard took the stand, saying Palmer stabbed her girlfriend out of anger, not fear.
