CRAWFORDVILLE, FL -- Investigators have released the name of a Florida Highway Patrol trooper seriously injured in a crash Monday morning.
According to investigators, a Chevy truck traveling South on US-319 around 11:20 Monday morning hit a Blue Bell Ice Cream truck head on.
Troopers say the crash caused a third car, driven by Trooper Casey Harrell, to crash into the Chevy truck and spin off the road.
Harrell, 29, was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in serious condition and was later released. No one else was hurt in the crash.
Both north and southbound lanes of US-319 were closed for six hours as troopers investigated.
Troopers say charges are pending.
