TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Leon County student suffers minor injuries after a vehicle fails to stop at a red light and hits a school bus. It happened at 2:10 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, William Dewell, 58, of Mableton, Georgia was driving southbound on US-319 and didn't stop for the red light where 319 intersects with CR-259.

A Leon County School bus, driven by Katrice Daniels, 37, of Tallahassee, Florida, was traveling westbound on CR-259 and had a green light at that same intersection. Troopers say the vehicles collided.

FHP says there were 7 children, all under the age of 18, on the bus at the time of the crash. 6 were released to their parents or guardian. 1 child was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Both drivers, Dewell and Daniels also suffered minor injuries.

Dewell has been charged with failure to stop at a steady red light.
