LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a suspect involved in a Tallahassee hit-and-run crash.
Troopers say the incident happened on Tuesday at 12:19 p.m. on U.S. 27 and Fred George Road.
Reports say a 2004 Chevy Tahoe and a 2006 Dodge 1500 were traveling northbound on U.S. 27 in the inside lane with the Dodge in front, when the driver of the dodge, James Mitchell of Tallahassee, slowed down to merge into the left turning lane at Fred George Road.
The driver of the Tahoe failed to slow down or stop and collided into the rear of Dodge. The driver of the Tahoe then drove off at a high rate of speed northbound on US 27.
The driver was last seen making a right turn on Old Bainbridge Rd. traveling northbound.
Troopers say the driver of the Tahoe is described as a white male and his car should have some damage to its front.
Charges are pending.
