WAKULLA CO., FL -- A Panacea man is dead after an afternoon crash in Wakulla County on Sunday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Charles Dennison, 62, was driving south on US-98 just before 4:30 p.m. when his 1997 Oldsmobile Regency began to drift into the northbound lanes.
Troopers say a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado driving in the northbound lane swerved, but Dennison’s car hit a boat trailer attached to the Silverado, causing it to separate from the truck.
The impact caused Dennison’s car to spin into the northbound lanes where Wakulla County Fire Rescue had to extract him from the car.
Troopers say he was taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where he later died. The driver and passengers of the Silverado were not hurt, according to FHP.
