(WTXL) - A Madison man received critical injuries when his vehicle left its lane and was hit by another vehicle, FHP said.

Brian Ponder, 34, was taken to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare after the accident about 4:41 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2018, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release Tuesday.

Ponder's 2013 Kia Soul was traveling south on NE Collin Kelly Highway near NE Avocado Lane when it crossed the center line and entered another vehicle's lane of travel.

That second vehicle was unable to move out of the way of Ponder's vehicle.  Ponder's front bumper struck the driver side of the second vehicle's front bumper.

The second driver received minor injuries.

FHP cited Ponder for failure to maintain a single lane.
