JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident after a tractor-trailer ran off the road in Jackson County.
FHP said the accident happened at about 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday on U.S. Highway 231.
According to FHP, the driver of a tractor-trailer lost control on the wet roadway and began to spin.
FHP states the truck and trailer ran off the road and slid down an embankment on the shoulder of U.S. Highway 231.
The driver was taken to Southeast Alabama Medical Center with minor injuries.
It is unknown at this time if the driver was wearing his seatbelt, but FHP says alcohol did not play a factor in the accident.
FHP says charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
