MADISON COUNTY, FL -- A Florida man is facing Careless Driving charges after investigators say he lost control of his car and crashed head-on into another.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say 57-year old Thomas Lee Heywar was driving west on 1-10 in Madison County around 6 p.m. Wednesday. That’s when investigators say he lost control on his car, crossed into on-coming traffic and crashed head-on into a second car.
Troopers say that impact caused a spare tire from Heywar’s truck to smash into a third car.
A total of 7 people were involved in the crash. 3 of them, including Heywar, were taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
