FHP: Child seriously injured after fall from truck

TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. -- Florida troopers are investigating after a seven-year-old child was seriously injured in an incident that happened in Perry.

According to an FHP crash report, the child was hurt after falling, for unknown reasons, from the bed of a truck. The vehicle, a 1990 Dodge Ram, was traveling north on County Road 361 (Beach Road), about 74 feet south of Sandy Road. The incident happened at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 2.

The child was taken to Shands of UF, according to the report. The child is from Horseshoe Beach, Florida.

Troopers say that the driver of the vehicle is unknown at this time, and the incident is under investigation. Charges are pending.
