JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A 1-year-old child died in Jackson County after a pickup truck traveling through a yard hit him, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday, FHP responded to a fatal crash on the 2200 block of Ray Avenue near Burke Street in Grand Ridge.
FHP has not yet released the name of the child, saying the name is being withheld until all family members are notified.
The driver of the pickup truck, Mark Anthony Hodges, 51, of Grand Ridge, is facing charges of driving on a suspended license/involving death, FHP said.
FHP said that Hodges was driving the pickup truck through the yard, where the child was playing, and did not see the child.
