THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - New details have been released about a shooting in Thomasville overnight on Tuesday.
Thomasville Police have just identified Micharious Johnson as a suspect responsible for shooting 32-year-old Akeilous Hardy. He is in critical condition.
Police went to the 700 block of Wright-Street after receiving calls about neighbors hearing several gunshots.
Captain Maurice Holmes said when they started their investigation, many residents were frantic.
Clifton Filmore, who said he's the suspect's cousin, lives just a few houses down.
"I heard some gunshots and I thought nothing of it. I thought it was some firecrackers. But, when I first heard that sirens hit, I knew something happened," said Filmore.
Still, not much information has been released.
Investigators said they're following up on several strong leads from a handful of eyewitnesses.

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - The Thomasville Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to Capt. Steve Jones with the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office, it happened on Wright Street.
The area where the incident happened on Wright Street is taped off said Thomasville Police Department Maj. Wade Glover.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called in and is on its way to the scene.
A man is in critical condition after the shooting, according to Glover.
