Feds Canceling Visas of Missing Afghan Students

VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - The Department of Homeland Security says they are looking to cancel the diplomatic visas of the two Afghan students missing from Moody Air Force Base.

Representative for the department, Bryan Cox, says once this is done then Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will take over the search for the men.  

"ICE Homeland Security Investigations is aware of the situation, and we are in contact with the State Department working to cancel their visas," said Cox. "HSI special agents are actively working to locate these two individuals in coordination with the State Department and the Department of Defense. Specific details regarding these ongoing activities are not available due to the ongoing investigation"

The State Department is currently heading the search with the help of the Department of Defense and Homeland Security.

The two men were training at Moody Air Force Base for the last year and were suppose to finish their training and return to Afghanistan next week.
