TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The impact of the fedeeral shutdown is being felt by many here in our community.
Thursday federal employees plan to rally outside Florida's Capitol.
That's where we found WTXL ABC 27 reporter Jada Williams, who was live.
Many of the federal workers say they are frustrated and are now ready to demand answers by calling on the president to do more to help.
The group is rallying to let the public know that many in the community are suffering due to the government shutdown.
Organizers say that eventually those federal workers won't be able to come into work, and then those struggles will start to extend past the federal workers.
A worker at the Federal Correctional Institute in Tallahassee says that inmates are still getting their benefits during this shutdown, but those on staff are having to work for free.
Now those workers are saying put aside political affiliations and paying attention to their fellow Americans hurting from the shutdown.
There will be multiple rallies Friday across the nation, including one at the White House.
