GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Police say the estranged wife of a federal prosecutor is under arrest on suspicion of attempted murder after she shot and wounded her ex-husband.

Alachua County deputies arrested 39-year-old Alexis Williams on Friday after officials say she shot Frank Williams, an assistant U.S. attorney.

Frank Williams told investigators he was at his ex-wife's house to pick up his daughter and deliver paperwork related to a property the two share.

Frank Williams told police that Alexis was unhappy about the papers and reached for a gun, crouched down into a shooting stance and aimed at his chest.

The Gainesville Sun (http://bit.ly/1zDsceG) reports that Williams jumped out of the way but was hit in the arm, breaking bones.

Alexis Williams was being held in the county jail on a $200,000 bond.
