LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Federal officials will visit the Atlanta area to discuss an initiative meant to help out of work Americans find jobs.
USDA officials say Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack and U.S. Department of Labor Secretary Thomas Perez will discuss the program Friday morning at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville.
Officials say Georgia and several other states have been chosen for a program to test methods of helping unemployed and underemployed people transition from government food assistance programs and find well-paying jobs.
