TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is preparing to release the results from a backlog of untested rape kits from across the state.
The agency says on Monday they will be sharing a comprehensive assessment on the untested rape kits.
Back in November, the department said there were nearly 11,000 kits that had not been submitted for analysis.
The data came from 262 law enforcement agencies around the state.
The department conducted a $300,000 study and plans to present the results to the legislature this month.
