FDC announces arrest of food service worker

MONTICELLO, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Department of Corrections announced the arrest of a food service worker accused of trying to smuggle cigarettes to an inmate at the Jefferson Correctional Institution.

Genna Alexander was charged with introduction of contraband into a correctional facility.

Authorities noticed something was wrong after Alexander was unable to clear the metal detector. She then admitted having several cigar-style cigarettes in her bra.

Following the arrest, Alexander was transported to the Jefferson County Jail.
