VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - A man is dead after a crash involving a pickup truck and a moped in Valdosta.
According to the Valdosta Police Department, 61-year-old David Lee Butler died from injuries sustained from the crash at the hospital on Tuesday.
Police say the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. on the 1100 bock of North St. Augustine Road.
The crash is still being investigated by police.
Officers want to remind motorcycle and moped drivers to take precautions such as wearing helmets and protective gear, in addition to wearing reflective items that make them more visible.
"Motorcycles and mopeds at times can be difficult to spot, so other drivers should always be cognizant that they may be sharing the road with a motorcycle or scooter," said the department.
