MADISON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)- One person is dead tonight, after a fatal accident in Madison County.
Florida Highway Patrol Troopers say that the crash involved a pickup truck that was pulling a boat trailer.
The truck was going north on US 221, when it drove off the paved portion of the road and onto the east shoulder of the highway. That's when the front right side of the pick up struck several large trees.
The passenger, 65 year old Randall Carr, died while fire rescue was transporting them to the hospital. The driver, 75-year old Samuel Dawson, had minor injuries.
At this time, traffic homicide investigators do not believe that alcohol or drugs contributed to this collision.
