TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Florida Highway Patrol releases details early Thursday morning on a fatal accident in Gadsden County.
Troopers say the incident happened around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday night. Officials say Ira Thomas was turning onto Salem Road from U.S. Highway 27 when the 56-year-old crossed over and onto the shoulder of the road, later coming to a stop on the nearby railroad tracks.
According to FHP, Thomas died on scene. Details released do not specify the nature of his death, but Thomas was the only person involved.
