TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - One of Florida A&M University's top leaders is stepping down.
George Cotton, FAMU's Vice President of University Advancement has resigned, effective Friday.
Cotton also served as Executive Director of the FAMU Foundation.
University officials did not indicate why Cotton is resigning.
In the meantime, the university President Larry Robinson has appointed FAMU School of Business and Industry Dean Shawnta Friday-Stroud as Interim Vice President of University Advancement.
Friday-Stroud has served as Dean of FAMU's Business School since 2010.
