TALLAHASSEE, FL -- Cleve Warren is the newly elected Chairperson for the Florida A&M University Board of Trustees.
According to university officials, Warren was elected unanimously after being nominated by Robert Woody.
Warren is the CFO for Florida State College in Jacksonville and is a former banker and financial adviser, according to FAMU.
"It is a great honor to serve. I pledge to honor my colleagues' selection of me as chair by giving to it all that it demands of me as a molder of consensus, and as principal steward of its governing tenets," said Warren.
Warren's new position was vacated after Rufus Montgomery stepped down following two unsuccessful attempts by Montgomery to fire President Elmira Mangum.
Trustee Spurgeon McWilliams also stepped down from the board after the attempted firings.
