TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) -- September is National Campus Safety Awareness Month and on Wednesday, FAMU held an event at its Student Union to promote awareness.
Students were able to meet with officials from the Tallahassee Fire Department, Police Department, American Red Cross, and other organizations. The goal of the event was to help students learn more about available resources, including domestic and sexual violence.
"We were passing out information and survival guides. It has hotline numbers to give students more information about who they can contact if that [sexual assault] happens to them," Maya Sutton, a FAMU nursing student said.
The 24 hour FAMU Public Safety Hotline is 850-599-3256.
