TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - As Florida A&M's Marching 100 prepares for their first ever appearance on one of the nation's biggest stages, nerves are not a factor.
The Rattler's will be performing in the Tournament of Roses Parade on New Years Day, in Pasadena, California, with millions of people watching.
Director of Marching and Pep Bands at FAMU, Shelby Chipman, said his students have been preparing all year long for this opportunity and that they are surely ready.
"We've been very focused in our rehearsals post our big Florida Classic football game and we've had several rehearsals as it relates to the band fest," said Chipman. "The 17-minute show that will take place and of course the parade route and working on the corner turn that everybody knows about and where those cameras are going and of course all the build up that relates to the logistics as well and we just tell them to go out and perform at the best level that we always encourage them to do."
Coverage of the Tournament of Roses Parade begins at 11:00 a.m. with the game beginning at 4:00 p.m right here on WTXL.
