TALLAHASSEE, Fla (WTXL) - Alumni from Florida A&M will come together Friday to honor four FAMU alumni excelling in the community.

The outstanding members to be honored at the 12th annual Igniting Rattler Spirit Through Scholarship Gala are Dr. Makeba Earst, John Haugabrook, Juanita Moore  and Curtis Taylor. 

The event, hosted by the FAMU Alumni Association, will provide financial assistance to FAMU students for what they have done both in the classroom and in the community.

The proceeds will benefit the VL Elkins Scholarship Fund, FAMU Athletics, FAMU Bands and other campus organizations. 

The gala runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at FAMU's Grand Ballroom on South Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

Tickets are $75 per person or $600 per table.
