TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It's the season for giving and Florida A&M University was asking people to do just that at their Holiday Toy Drive Celebration.
People were asked to bring new, unwrapped gifts for children of all ages. FAMU said, if you can, bicycle and helmet donations are extra special because every child loves getting a bike.
Everything is donated to local organizations that focus on supporting children and families in need.
Last year's drive was able to give around 400 children in the area a Christmas present.
"We've collected at least 25 bikes. Our goal is to get more than last year which is about 50-60 bikes, over 400 toys," said Vernon Bryant, FAMU Toy Drive Event Coordinator. "So we're very pleased with the donation so far."
And based on the donations, they were close to reaching that goal with even more donations coming in this year. Anyone was welcome to come join.
