TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The men and women that work every day to keep the campus at Florida A&M University beautiful are often overlooked.

That's why one Tallahassee family started a holiday tradition to celebrate the FAMU grounds crew.

For ten years, Jami Coleman's family has brought a special holiday dinner to the 50 employees of the FAMU grounds department.

The family says it all started as a way to share the season with their father, James Coleman, a long-time member of the grounds department.

Now, it's become a December staple on the Rattler campus, and a way to recognize the people who keep the orange and green campus green and beautiful, all year long.

"These are people that often times we over look when we come to the games. When we come on campus, we don't see that staff that maintains the grounds on campus," said Jami Coleman. "And we see them everyday and this is how we say, 'Merry Christmas' and 'Thank you' to them."

The Coleman family served their annual meal at lunchtime Thursday.
