TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL)-- A local university took it's love for a certain fruit to the next level with the Annual Grape Harvest Festival.
FAMU hosted it's annual event this year with the theme Purple Reign.
The event kicked off Saturday Morning with a vineyard walk and run, followed by more activities including a petting zoo, water slides, and different contests like Grape Stomping.
More than 60 community groups helped the university celebrate it's role in what's called, "Viticulture Research."
Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum and FAMU President Dr. Elmira Mangum made special appearances as well. An Estimated 3,000 people came out for the festival.
