TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The family of a former Florida A&M University band member settles with the bus company that took the students to Orlando and was the primary location of where the hazing death took place.
The suit was against the Fabulous Coach Lines and the company's owner.
FAMU Drum Major Robert Champion's family has now reached a settlement after their attorney said today, that he would file a motion this week to dismiss the negligence lawsuit.
Court documents suggest the settlement was reached last summer.
An attorney for the bus company didn't respond to a phone message or email.
His family still is pursuing a lawsuit against the university.
Robert Champion died after a hazing incident back in 2011 during a band trip to Orlando.
15 former band members were charged with manslaughter and hazing in the November 2011 death of Champion, of Decatur, Georgia.
Four of the defendants face trial next month.
