TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Dozens of people celebrated the 15th Annual Grape Festival with FAMU alumni, current students, and faculty.

For the 15th year in a row, the Grape Festival came to FAMU's campus. The event celebrates the university's role as a leader in viticulture research.

The university has more than 45 acres of grape vineyards. The celebration featured grape stomping and grape throwing contests.

"The work that FAMU is doing here at the viticulture center is so important to our community. Hopefully we have peaked their interest in agriculture and research and most importantly becoming students at Florida A & M University."

The event also featured more than 60 local vendors and exhibits.
