TALLAHASSEE, FL - Florida A&M University is receiving a $75,000 grant after its quiz bowl team won a national championship competition.
The team of 4 students, coached by professor Vivian Hobbs, Ph.D., won the trophy on Monday after traveling to Torrance, California for the Honda Campus All-Star Challenge.
"Congratulations to Coach Hobbs and her students," said President Elmira Mangum, Ph.D. "Their success is truly a testament to the caliber of academic programs, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community support that makes FAMU among the best higher education institutions in the nation."
This is the eighth time the university has won the championship.
