TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida A&M University (FAMU) has something to celebrate, breaking a record with their annual United Way fundraising drive.
Friday, FAMU President Elmira Mangum, Ph.D., announced that the University's drive raised more than $44,400 for the organization. That is more than double the amount they raised last year of $20,875.
According to United Way of the Big Bend officials, the University's efforts represent the largest giving increase among participating organizations.
"Congratulations to the Rattler community for making our annual United Way campaign a success," Mangum said. "The success of this campaign is a vivid representation of our unwavering commitment to serving under served communities."
