TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Stadium renovations and plans for athletic facilities are just some of the hot topics being discussed in Wednesday's Florida A&M University Board of Trustees meeting.

The FAMU Board of Trustees will met Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. to discuss project details including much anticipated stadium renovations. FAMU envisions the project to be transformational with major benefits to the athletic facilities.

Just a few of the details include: 16 lounge boxes, more than 1,000 premium club seats and 3,000 priority seats, 20 leasable luxury suites and four luxury suites for university use only.

FAMU's Board of Trustees are also set to discuss new student housing Wednesday.

Increases in student enrollment caused several students to be misplaced at the start of the 2017 school year. FAMU then re-opened some of it's older student housing buildings to meet the need.

Phase one of the Board of Trustees project details for housing and demolition. It includes a priority development of 700 beds to be developed based on the university's student housing building replacement program.

It also calls for the demolition of Wheatley, Cropper, Diamond and McGuinn residence halls.

Right now the plan for the new residence halls is projected for the next two years, so they are looking at 2020.

The BOT meeting will continue through 4:45 p.m. before picking up again with the full board on Thursday at 11:15 a.m. You can watch that meeting live here.
