TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Despite last week's public apology from FAMU athletic director Kellen Winslow, the Board of Trustees at the school held up a vote of no confidence in Winslow last night.

It was approved Monday with a 6 to 3 margin during a conference call.

While the vote has no direct impact on Winslow's job, it does leave the FAMU community wondering whether President Dr. Elmira Mangum will act to meet the criticisms brought forward about Winslow.

The motion will be delivered to her office for consideration.

The vote comes after Winslow unexpectedly fired FAMU head football coach Earl Holmes in the middle of homecoming celebrations this year.

Since his decision, students, faculty, and the now the Board of Trustees have expressed their frustration and disappointment in his actions.
