TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Board of trustees at Florida A & M University met today, discussing many issues, including the search for a new head football coach.
Today, at 4p.m. they were scheduled to talk about updates on the search process for a new head football coach.
During homecoming week, Athletic Director Kellen Winslow unexpectedly fired FAMU head football coach Earl Holmes.
Last month, the Board of Trustees upheld a "no confidence" vote against Kellen Winslow, for how he handled the firing of Coach Holmes. The trustees also drafted a letter, sent to FAMU President Elmira Mangum. In it, they say they are concerned about the athletic department and asked for a meeting with Mangum.
They also wrote "The Athletic Director does not possess or exhibit the fundamental knowledge or respect to effectively administer a quality athletic program at FAMU."
