TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - With the help of Florida A&M University alumni who are returning during Homecoming Week, the university is making sure millennials know the importance of voting.

A panel of alumni, including producer Will Packer, had an open discussion this morning with FAMU students about the importance of voting in the upcoming election.

Packer founded a production company that has made movies such as the Wedding Ringer, Think Like a Man 2, and Ride Along.

Alumni Monique Mitchell hoped this discussion would make young people realize how much their vote matters and the importance of going out to vote on election day.

"We are in a special time where millennials, we can make a huge impact on this election and it's important that we recognize that power and we voice that power." said Mitchell. "So I think this type of panel, we're bringing students here at Florida A&M University together to just remind them of how important it is and the strides people have made before them in order to have this platform now."

Mitchell also says that it doesn't matter who you vote for; it is just important go vote and make your opinion heard.
